Before and After Project Features
Sewickley Historical Society
I was honored to be asked by the Sewickley Historical Society to design a courtyard garden that would be a tribute to the Society founder, B.G. Shields. This project included a complete redesign of their outdoor space, including all of the stonework. The challenge was to ensure that the new landscaping, hardscaping, fencing, fountain and plantings complimented and existed in harmony with the existing architecture.
Walnut Street
It is always a fun challenge to start a project with a blank slate. The owners of this property had just completed a fabulous renovation and wanted their garden to live up to the beauty of their new home. Landscaping additions included a completely new planting design, lighting, irrigation and a charming new walkway to guide visitors around the property.
Small Is Beautiful
The transformation was fabulous on this smaller sized lot. The attached shed was removed and rebuilt on the side of the house and a new bulkhead door was installed. The window in the kitchen became a door to allow for easy access to the beautiful new patio. The scope of this project included new front steps, new patio, driveway and plantings. We trimmed the concrete work with existing bricks that were onsite, giving the exposed aggregate a finished look.
